Home Care Manager Position

Are you looking to be a part of a great work environment and make a positive impact in the lives of seniors?  Our Barrington office is looking to fill our Home Care Manager position.

The Home Care Manager will play a critical role in the staffing, scheduling and recruitment of a growing team of caregivers. This role requires a focused approach with the following:

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Plan and coordinate schedules with caregivers and clients
  • Handle and address scheduling issues and use independent judgement to evaluate options to make sure all cases are covered / arrange for back-up, if needed
  • Recruit / Interview / Screen / On-board caregivers
  • Answer and triage calls and messages from caregivers and clients
  • Schedule shifts 2 weeks in advance, coordinating caregiver / client qualifications / needs
  • Communicate assignments to caregiver and client / responsible party
  • Conduct orientation and in-service caregiver training
  • Coordination of specialized training and trainers (e.g. dementia, hospice, etc.)
  • Provide hands-on training as needed
  • Participate in on-call rotation as needed and assigned (including weekend and holiday rotation)
  • Emergency shift fill-in with clients as needed

 Qualifications:

  • Ability to work professionally under pressure and in situations demanding patience and tact
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with customer service with a demonstrated desire to meet people’s needs
  • Excellent telephone etiquette and communication skills
  • Independent thinker with the ability to be flexible and creative to solve issues
  • Proficient in managing multiple tasks
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products
  • A minimum of 2 years administrative office or related experience
  • Experience in scheduling, preferably with in the home care industry
  • Ability to prioritize effectively and efficiently
  • High school diploma or GED required but more education is preferred
  • Must have valid driver’s license and a vehicle that can be used for work
