The COVID-19 crisis has reinforced the vulnerabilities of older adults, people with disabilities, and direct care workers while sparking a renewed discussion on these populations. Why has this pandemic placed at risk so people in nursing homes and across the aging and long-term care system? How has a history of racial and gender injustice exacerbated these inequalities? And how can we advocate for improvements that would strengthen services and supports for consumers and enhance jobs for 4.6 million home care workers and nursing assistants?
