Social Media Policy

Membership in IL-COC’s private Facebook group (and similar groups or forums we may establish on other platforms) and the ability to share is a privilege, not a right. With that in mind, we have established the following set of rules for use of IL-COC’s private forums.

1. Keep it relevant. You are free to post questions and information that are of reasonable interest to some or all of the IL-COC membership, as described above. Any posts that fall outside of this topical area may be removed at the administrators’ discretion.

2. Treat other members with the respect they deserve. It’s fine to disagree but treat others like you would like to be treated!

3. Do not spam. Our operating definition of spam is any repetitive, irrelevant, or advertising post. Any post considered spam will be removed, and the individual responsible may be removed from this group at the administrators’ discretion.

4. Please do not post text in all CAPITALS since this is considered to be shouting and is not necessary.

5. Insulting and inflammatory or personal attacks against group moderators will be not tolerated. Responsible parties will be immediately removed from the group.

6. Please be mindful of the language you use in the group.

7. Do not post sensitive information pertaining to any individual or business. This includes medical and/or financial information, contact details, names of patients/residents, and any other information that could result in harm if shared.

8. Posts or comments disparaging, belittling, or otherwise insulting any individual, business, or specific group of people (ethnic, gender, orientation, etc.) will not be tolerated under any circumstances. Responsible individuals will be banned from this forum.
